The same hot water, a fraction of the electricity
A heat pump moves heat from the air into the water instead of making it from electricity, so it delivers the same hot water on a fraction of a conventional geyser’s power. Ours connect over Wi-Fi, so heating runs to a schedule built around how you actually use hot water — and you can see it working from your phone.
How it connects
The heat pump sits outdoors and the storage tank beside it. Its built-in circulation pump draws the cooler water from the bottom of the tank, heats it and sends it back in at the top, so the hottest water is always where the outlet draws from. Temperature sensors at the top and the bottom of the tank are wired back to the heat pump: it runs until the tank reaches the temperature you set, and starts again when the water drops below it. Cold water comes in at the bottom; hot water goes out to the building from the top.
