Multi Pump Controller
Up to six pumps — drives and direct-on-line — running as one system.
The master controller for a pump set. It decides for up to six pumps over RS485 Modbus, each on an APCON driver or a variable frequency drive: VFDs first, staged starts, run-time balancing and PID control on pressure or level.
| Pumps | Up to six, on one RS485 Modbus bus |
|---|---|
| Pump drivers | APCON Motor Drivers, or VFDs — including Danfoss FC 51 and FC 101 and Grundfos CUE |
| Allocation | VFD pumps first · optional smallest-pump-first · run-time balancing |
| Limits | Maximum number of working pumps |
| Staging | Delay between pump starts — 30 s by default |
| Control logic | PID · proportional · time delay |
| Role | Controller only — it runs the set, each pump keeps its own driver and protections |
| Connectivity | Wi-Fi to the Devyami app and web portal · over-the-air updates |
The set decides, not each pump
In a pump room with several pumps, the hard part is not switching a motor — it is deciding which motor, when, and how many. The Multi Pump Controller makes that one decision for the whole set, against one reading: the line pressure on the header, or the level in the tank.
- Drives first. A pump on a VFD is called first and trims the last few percent; fixed-speed pumps stage in behind it only when the drive runs out of speed.
- Staged, never together. Starts are spaced by a staging delay, so the set never takes its combined starting current at once.
- Even wear. Run time is balanced across the set, so no machine carries the whole duty.
- Protected pump by pump. Every pump keeps its own driver and its own protections.
