Motor Driver
Starter, controller and motor protection for one pump — single or three phase.
The APCON Motor Driver takes your old starter panel's place. It runs one pump on tank level, pressure, temperature, flow or a timer, protects the motor against nine faults, and reports everything to the Devyami app.
| Supply | Single phase (1Φ) or three phase (3Φ) versions |
|---|---|
| Pumps | One |
| Applications | Level · pressure · temperature (hot or cold) · dewatering · manual |
| Modes | Auto · semi-auto · manual |
| Control logic | Time delay · proportional · PID |
| Tank inputs | Source and destination tank — float, conductive probe or level transmitter |
| Pressure input | Pressure transducer, 0.5–4.5 V or 4–20 mA |
| Other inputs | Flow meter (pulse or Modbus) · TDS or temperature sensor · external start / stop / trip contact |
| Energy metering | Voltage, current, power factor, frequency and THD on every phase |
| Protections | Dry run (power-based and sensor-based) · overload · under load · under and over voltage · phase loss, weak phase and phase sequence (3Φ) · over-cycle · over-run |
| Timers | 8 on-times and 8 off-times · real-time clock · delays remembered through a power cut |
| Panel | 128 × 64 OLED display · 5-button keypad · status LEDs |
| Connectivity | Wi-Fi to the Devyami app and web portal · over-the-air updates · RS485 Modbus RTU for SCADA, PLC and BMS |
One box instead of a starter panel
The Motor Driver is not an add-on next to your starter — it is the starter, with the controller and the protection built in. It goes on the wall where the old panel was, onto the pump, tanks and wiring you already have. A single-pump retrofit is usually a few hours.
What it decides on
Tell it what the pump is for and it runs itself:
- Level — start when the destination tank is low and the source has water, stop when it is full. See tank level automation.
- Pressure — hold a set pressure with PID control on a pressure transducer. See pressure boosting.
- Temperature — run a circulation or cooling pump on a temperature band.
- Dewatering — the level rule inverted, so a pit or basement sump is emptied instead of filled.
- Timers — up to eight on-times and eight off-times, kept by its own real-time clock.
Protection that does not need the internet
Every protection runs on the controller itself, so a motor is protected with the router unplugged. Dry run is caught two ways: by a sensor at the source, and without any sensor by watching true input power, which collapses the moment a pump loses water. All nine are explained on the motor protection page.
What it is used for
Each page shows the system working — the diagram, the logic and how it is installed.
Tank level automation
Fills the tank when it is low, stops when it is full — and never runs the pump on an empty sump.
See how it works →Digital Flow Monitoring & Water Metering
Digital flow meters turn every pipeline into a number you can manage: litres pumped today, consumption per wing or per site, and totals you can export. Water metering is also your leak detector — flow at 3 AM when everyone is asleep is a leak announcing itself.
See how it works →Hot water & heat pumps
Hot at the tap in seconds, with the heat pump and the circulation loop run as one plan.
See how it works →Remote control & alerts
Start, stop and see every pump from your phone — with the reason attached to every trip.
See how it works →Pressure boosting (HPN)
One steady pressure on every floor — held by a PID loop and a drive, not a pressure switch.
See how it works →Irrigation & fountain timers
Gardens, fountains and filtration that run to a schedule kept inside the controller.
See how it works →Multi-pump sets
Two to six pumps share the work, stage in on demand and cover for each other on a fault.
See how it works →Motor protection
Dry run, overload, voltage, phase and over-cycling — caught before they burn a motor.

What actually switches the motor — and how to choose the one your pump and supply need.
