Indore's water
Indore drinks Narmada water pumped up from Jalud and released on alternate days, with Yashwant Sagar and thousands of tubewells filling the gaps. We help you catch every supply day and keep what you store clean.
Indore's tap water is lifted from the Narmada at Jalud, about 80 km away, and shared out by the Indore Municipal Corporation on alternate days. Around 450 MLD arrives against a need closer to 650 MLD, so nearly a third of the city outside the Narmada network leans on tubewells and tankers, and the 2026 monsoon fell about 27 per cent short. From Rajwada's lanes and Bhagirathpura to Vijay Nagar and the townships along the Super Corridor, Devyami installs level controllers that make every supply day count, pressure systems for towers, and filtration that guards against what leaking pipes let in.

Raw water is drawn from the Narmada at Jalud in Khargone district.
Step 2
It is pumped about 80 km to the city through municipal pipelines, at an electricity cost of around Rs 25 crore a month.
Step 3
IMC fills overhead tanks and supplies each area on alternate days, topped up by about 30 MLD from Yashwant Sagar and by municipal tubewells.
Step 4
Whatever arrives on your supply day has to be caught in the sump and lifted to the overhead tank to last until the next one.

Narmada water reaches Indore homes on alternate days, so each supply has to fill storage for two. With around 450 MLD available against a requirement near 650 MLD, IMC has banned bulk Narmada connections and announced fines for washing vehicles with drinking water.
How we fix it
A multi-tank level controller fills your sump and overhead tanks in sequence the moment supply starts, even at odd hours, and stops each fill when its tank is full.
At the start of 2026, a diarrhoea outbreak in Bhagirathpura was linked by civic officials to a leak in the main drinking-water pipeline at a spot where a toilet had been built above it.
How we fix it
We fit multigrade filtration and UV on the inlet, with RO for drinking water, so a contaminated supply day does not become a health problem at home.
About 30 per cent of Indore, mostly areas outside the Narmada pipeline network, depends on tubewells or tankers. The mayor said around 6,000 tubewells dried up last summer, and the 27 per cent rainfall shortfall of 2026 could push that number higher.
How we fix it
Level sensors and pump-status alerts on the Devyami IoT app tell you when the borewell has stopped delivering, and APCON dry-run protection shuts the motor before it burns out.
Large townships are coming up along the Super Corridor, including a 450-acre integrated township announced in July 2025. Narmada Phase IV aims for 900 MLD and 24x7 pressurised supply by 2029, with district metering and SCADA monitoring.
How we fix it
An APCON multi-pump controller runs up to six pumps as one VFD-driven booster set, holding steady pressure on every floor and sharing run-hours across the pumps.
December 2025 brought Indore its coldest nights in about ten years, with the minimum near 5°C, and cold-wave warnings were issued for the city and nearby districts.
How we fix it
A heat pump delivers hot water through a cold spell using far less electricity than a geyser, and keeps running economically for the rest of the year.

Plan storage for at least two days of use, then automate the filling. Devyami's multi-tank level controller fills the sump and each overhead tank in turn from one pump set, and a twin motor driver adds a standby pump with shared duty so one pump failure does not cost you a supply day.
In dry spells Pithampur's municipal supply has dropped to about a third of demand, with many areas getting water once in four to five days in 2023. Fit APCON motor drivers with dry-run, overload, voltage and single-phasing protection on each borewell and transfer pump, and use the IoT app to see tank levels and trips across the plant on one screen.
Municipal water is treated, but it can pick up contamination from leaks on the way to you. We recommend RO or UV at the drinking-water point and a multigrade filter on the main inlet. If the water ever looks or smells wrong, stop using it and inform IMC.
